Hi all! I was out today with the beautiful weather to see if I could catch some prespawn smallies. The temperature of the river was 49 degrees while i was out. I was skunked but enjoyed being able to be outside! I have a couple questions to try to really dial in prespawn smallmouth. What type of water should I be looking for? What kind of flies should I be using? I heard mid column swim flies work well but that's what i tried today. What temperature of water is best? Any help would be appreciated, i've been really trying prespawn for the past couple years and can't seem to figure it out. Thanks!

You're not alone. Suskys has been fishing poorly over the last couple weeks. It's just a little early, I think. I typically spin fish this time of year. Low and slow normally works.
