Since I have a pile of deers hair I decided to tie some poppers for bass. These are some of the first deer hair flies of this size that I have tied and I tried to make the strip patterns that is often seen on poppers. So here they are and hopefully I will find somewhere to chuck them.

VERY NICE!

these look cool. I fear trimming deer hair...and cleaning up when I'm done.

Safety razors snapped in half is the key. DOn't slice your fingers when you snap them, though.

Well done!

Man those are nice. I recently started tinkering with spinning hair and I can't believe everything one can do with it. I have made a few cress bugs but I'm having some issues getting a good uniform trim.

I actually hand cut these with scissors until I realized I could take a razor blade out of my four blade shaver head, but they are not flexible so I will have to get some proper blades to get a nicer curved shape next time.

This video set (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydfgE4YxgLI) is really good for seeing what you need to do to spin and place colours where you want them and also the art of shaving a fly.
