I officially start the season in the Poconos. I fish somewhere every month, but we head up above Stroudsburg for opening day on a little creek for some boisterous fishing with the powerbait boys in the morning and sneek off in the afternoon and Sunday for some bushwacking to find the black trout. This water is beyond tannic but stays cold enough to hold over and I think offer habitat for reproduction, contrary to popular belief. Here's two of the poconos finest, a rainbow and a brown, the brookies are even darker since they start out a few shades to the black already.
