Pine creek near Bellefonte

Wow , how things have changed. My brother I have fished that pine creek about 25 - 30 yrs. ago. Used to park at a bridge and walk it upstream all the way to where it entered state forest land. (first and only time I saw what I guess was someone’s pet doe walking around. Had a red handkerchief around its neck!.) If I rememberer correctly it was small and very brushy. Don’t recall it being posted in that area. A local in a pick up truck even stopped and gave us a ride back to the car and we were not even looking for a ride.

The state stocks a small area on the upper end if you look on the stocking list it gives you the coordinates , I assume that's mainly non posted ground. The rest is all posted, I'm fortunate enough to have access to a large chunk of posted pine and I fish it probably a dozen times a year, it's a fantastic creek so if your buddy even has a small section it's well worth it

I too respect private landowner rights, and support an individual’s choice to post their property if they want to. If you’re paying for it…

That said, it does stink that so many of the medium-ish sized valley limestoners in Central PA are all posted up…Spruce, Elk/Pine, Antes, good portions of Yellow, several Frankstown Branch tribs, etc.
