Pretty refined? She lived right across the street from Mr. Rodgers. That guy in the neighborhood wouldn’t even put on a suit when he went on TV or met the President. All he ever wore was a cardigan sweater.

I know for a fact that Mr Rodgers only fished upstream to risers with a dry fly while wearing that cardigan.

I’m married to a 4th generation Pittsburgh’er and I never heard her or any of her family members call Pittsburgh “Pixberg”. Maybe they cleaned up their language around me? 😃

I don't go full PA dutchy except around my dad's side of the family. My wife, who's family are total Yinzers, makes fun of me. I also worked in news in Pixburgh and interacted with people from pretty much every single neighborhood. It's Pixburgh. N'aht.

I came here to say something about Penns in late March but see that is not what this thread is about.

I have to go to Pixburgh in two weeks for my son's basketball tournament. I wish we were going to Penns instead.

And by the way, you don’t have to forgo Penns that weekend. Pittsburgh has some pretty good Penn’s fish of its own. It’s at 2208 Penn Ave. Not far upstream from the tunnel.
