Hi, I got my trip next week and trying to decide whether for not to overweight my fast 9ft #5 rod with a type 3 sinking #7 line, or just use my #7 9ft rod which might be overkill (with the same line), or buy a fast sinking tip/leader ?
this is to get streamers down in fast current on the smallish fast Magalloway river in Maine, and also in the Upper Richardson Dam pool - which i assume is long casts...
i'm an average caster, have been throwing sinking lines for stripers for a decade or so on fast action rods.
fish up there run from 8/10" up to 20+ ish.
i'm trying not to spend more $$$ and take more kit than i have to (camping plus fishing means a full suv already...), so any thoughts are welcome.
Cheers
Mark
