Fished for the first time in 2025. Latest start to the year I can remember. Fished a new stream. Knew the scenery would be good from research, and expected the fishing to be slow based on some survey reports I’ve seen…Class D Brookie population impacted by acid rain deposition, I suspect.

Anyway, scenery didn’t disappoint and the stream was worth a fish from that standpoint. I only caught one fish, but it was a good one. Itch sufficiently scratched until Spring actually gets here.

Cool fish!

I put in a couple hours on a stream that's stocked but has some weird / unique geology for this area, so I thought it would be a bit warmer. I'm still not on the board. Brutal.

That brook trout is built like a pink salmon! Nice catch. Looking forward to making my first brook trout trip of the year. Got some wild browns on a dry midge pattern today which was fun. Hopefully the warm weather this week gets more fish looking up.

I caught this fish with a similar hump a number of years back.



I inquired and sent the photo to the AFM and he told it could be scoliosis which apparently fish get as well as humans.

Nice fish! Hoping to get out for my first day this week in the warmth. Will probably stick nearby above the common stocked sections nearby - or put in a drive and toss some meat at penns
