Hello everyone

I am going to be heading to ocean isle the first week of July this summer. I have been there in the past and have done good both in the surf and in the bay with bait on all kind of fish from trout to drum to big sharks. I want to try bringing the fly rod this year to try pulling something out of the bay. If anyone has any information of what flies to try and what times to try that would be great. I'm assuming the low tide would make the fishing easier but I have never tried to I can be completely wrong. I am thinking of getting some bait fish patterns but with all the crabs in the bay I was wondering if a crab pattern to try as well. If anyone has any info on the area and any helpful hints that would be greatly approciated.

Thanks for any information

Tom

Sandfly is right on, I use copper flash though

doesn't matter what it imitates from Virginia beach down it's the go to fly to use. fish of all kinds and size hit it.
