Headed to Stone Harbor in late June. Anyone ever been there? Any fly fishing opportunity? Looking to fish the intercoastal water. No real experience with this type of fishing as I am pretty much a trout bum. Species to target that time of year, areas, guide to use maybe, any info would help.

I always go with Insomiac guide service. Dan Shaffer has that area dialed in he will definitely put you on fish.

Go to the Grassy Sound (if I remember correctly) toll bridge and fish underneath it on the outgoing tide with a heavy shooting head and a 3/0 white deceiver. Throw upstream as far as you can to get as much sink as possible. Get the fly as close to the pilings as possible. Start stripping as the fly drifts to level with your position. Expect the strike as the fly changes direction on the swing. Do this at night.

Lots of good areas to hit, spent 10 years in Avalon. Hit Morans marina they will put you on the fish and rent kayaks. Lots of good weakie spots around there.
