New set up

Great advice from all above.
I'll add my 2 cents now.

knowledge is priceless.
Line upgrade can make your old rig feel like a different rig.
If you want a new rod/reel get something to expand your fly fishing experience. For example get a European nymphing rig or an ultra lite rod for the small streams.
Try to hook up with some forum members and try what they have.
The members here are great and more than willing to help.
I'm in Stroudsburg which is close enough to meet up.
Good luck

If you are going to be at the Newbie Jam, I'll bring several rods and reels. We can underline a rod....let you cast it. We'll put the line on that's listed on the blank....let you cast it. I'll then overline it and let you cast it. You won't have to ask "why" any longer and you'd get first hand experience feeling the differences for yourself.

Urggg ... met u at the opening and didn't see u the rest of the day. I sat at the tying station for the majority, had lunch and didn't find u on the stream. For that I'm gonna follow u arnd the site, quote u and post photos u find offensive.

Deleting my post since I didn't realize there was a second page and the OP already has a new rig. Oops, sorry all.
