having my builder do a 11' 2 tip 3/4 wt. switch rod. Got a reel with 150 yds. backing 100 ft. of floating 20lb. braided running line and will be making heads for steel head waters. will post pics when done. Couple guys out west got me into it.. they fish them out there. can't wait to fish it.

Awesome, make a video of you casting it. Want to see how if rips line out.

Normally I'd say something stupid in a thread like this, but OP's got it locked up like a vault.

Ripping 100' casts on elk? Don't think it's needed or even possible.

Well, you could always snag that yipper dog across the stream in that lady's backyard!
I dont think i've ever made a cast over 30 or 40 feet on any erie trib.

Dear board I don't fish Pa tribs, only new York and am thinking Canada next year...so a rod that cast 100' will be needed.

if I fish pa tribs I would think I would use a 8' or shorter rod.

Are you sure it's not a "pinner"? Just BB.

I use a 11'9" 4wt and old clicker reel in NY.
Have fun. (not so fun in heavy wind).

Hey Dano maybe we have passed on the WNY waters.

Possibly,,I don't venture over to Ontario but a couple times a year at the most, usually in late Nov, early Dec. and once in a while to Oak for browns.
Mainly fish the Catt in NY because it's close and Grand in OH when the snow starts flying.
