The value of this seems limited but it's a start. The main problem is usually not the drilling per se, but the water extraction and disposal of flowback waste. Since trucks can go anywhere, it is most important to monitor streams near the extraction and disposal areas. That may or may not be the case here--would need more detail.

I don't see anything about stream levels. Perhaps the idea is that the conductivity data is sufficient.

Just going by what I read--I don't work in the field and don't know anybody who does.

I agree this is step in the right direction. We'll just have to wait and see how effective they are.
