So this is an appreciation thread...

On Monday I fished the Tully for the first time. I stopped by the Papermill pool and was greeted by a very nice gentleman who invited me into the pool, told me where to cross and wade up above him, and we just had a very nice conversation on lots of things. You were dead drifting a streamer and had a lot of success. You encouraged me to target the risers just above you with my dries.

I am always grateful for the stream side conversations, but this one was special. You said that you read PAFF, and I hope that you see this post. I'd really enjoy meeting and fishing with you again. If you see this....please say hello, by PM or other.

I am always amazed by the kindness and friendliness of fly fishermen. I have had so many nice conversations over the years. I hope that someday I can meet all of you that communicate with me on this forum. This Easter season I just want to say how grateful I am to call you all friends.

Thanks......

I have had many of the same experiences over my years fly fishing (since 1976!), and have met some of the most interesting and good-hearted people and heard great stories. It is one of the reasons I like fly fishing over every other kind I have done, from lakes to the ocean, all of which are great. But fly fishing has this randomness of bumping into people in a setting that lends itself to being open and helpful and willing to share.
