My wife found a mink stole in some clothes that were her mothers. She said to get rid of it. Anyone have a use for it? GG

GG, I have plenty. But it ties a lot of great flys. Nymohs, wets ad drys

I also have an abundance of it. Just like many other mammals that spend a lot of time in the water (muskrat, beaver, etc.) it is awesome dubbing for nymphs. Has a good look when wet, good movement and retains some bubbles. I like to tie it in a dubbing loop or split thread style. One of my most productive carp patterns that I tie has a real buggy body tied with mink fur dubbing.

The Darbees used mink guard hairs for wings, especially caddis. They are stiff and very shiny. They don't compress and are slippery, so make adjustments when tying them in.
