what do you guys think is the best bidge patter? just picked up some 22 and 24 # hooks gonna get tying.

Peacock herl stripped for larva and dries.

Zebra midges. BH Black and Olive have been good to me.

I also have tied in a little loosely tied dubbing for a collar. Very little. I'm new to tying, so I'm not sure about the correct phrasing, but a few wraps of loosely spun dubbing behind the bead.

It has been a very good nymph.

pupa: Al's rat and Yongs special
adult: griffiths gnat and a snowshoe midge can be used as the stage between both. I use a caddis curved hook (20-24), wrap thread and a use few dun snowshoe hairs tied like a caddis wing, the butt should sit under the surface.

The Zebra Midge is a great pattern:

Al’s Rat is simple and fishes well:

A small Brassie using fine wire instead of thread for the body can be killer in red, copper, black, or green:

Good luck.

I like to tie my Zebras with a *tiny* collar. I'll take some peacock herl an give it one wrap. one wrap only.
