I was stuck in a major backlog of construction zone traffic today and had this midge fly crawling all over the inside of my driver's side window. To kill some time I started taking photos of it with my phone. Some of them turned out decent. It pretty clearly shows the profile of an adult midge. The long thin, segmented abdomen, the wings laid back over back and shorter than the abdomen, the prominent thorax, the feathery antennae and the long jointed legs. The whole length of the midge from the head to the end of the abdomen I would estimate at being between 1/4" and 5/16".
