watching the AK Best video i have and reading a couple articles of his i cant help but notice how beautiful his hen hackle wings are.
i bought a couple of whiting hen capes and the feathers, while adequate, dont quite measure up to his. they are too skinny where AK's have a fatter, fuller profile.
Does anyone know exactly what brand he uses or have a recommendation?

An interesting thing about hackles is that the hens are more rounded and wide at the tips and the roosters are skinny and pointy, as you are describing. A.K Best (I use his full name out of respect :-D ) uses the hens hackle tips and Im not sure what brand. I like whiting farms.

AK uses Whiting Wingers specifically bred for wings.
