What is the offical rules on fishing durring the month of march...I thought it was prohibited but I guess there are exception. I live in Franklin co.

Most of the special regulation sections are available to fish still

Check them out at the Fish and Boat Commission Web site.

For trout; Special regulation areas of streams that are open year round are your best bet. Check the regs book for those in your area.

The only waters closed to fishing are the Approved Trout Waters (ATW) and their downstream areas. The ATW's close on March 1 for the stocking before opening day. Within the law you can fish anywhere but these areas. Upstream areas of ATW limits, streams not on the ATW list, unstocked wild trout streams, wilderness trout streams, etc.

Check the F&BC website for maps indicating the types of streams in your area, stay away from the ATWs and have at it.

Here it is
ATW from reg book

Ahh! Thanks. That makes sense.

What Maurice said.

Don't keep any trout.
