Whats the best way to mail small quantities of flys?

you don't need to mail them. they have wings and can usually get there on their own with minimal direction ;-)

I've exchanged dry flies with distant buddies by putting them in empty plastic hook boxes - then mailing them in larger cardboard boxes.
I would think a small quantity of flatter patterns - streamers and wetflies - would be OK mailed in an envelope between two pieces of cardboard

I've done small quanities in those small plastic boxes that wedding favor mints come in. I just pocket a couple and had a bunch left over from my own. Old hook boxes work too, but aren't as sturdy.

I then use a padded envelope.

A small box isn't a bad idea though.

Oh, I also typically hook my flies in a strip of foam so they don't hook each other in transit.

pill bottles work too, or small boxes for electrical componets.
