Here is some of the native i have been catching this spring/ summer not very big but lots of fun and great casting practice on small streams for a new fly fisherman like me. Almost all of them have been on beadhead prince nymphs.

Nice, but you don't have to hold the fish out of the water to get a good pic, and don't handle them with dry hands.

True. And in the second group of photos, the second picture is also a brown trout.

The topic of how to tell brookies and browns apart has been discussed here in the past.

These photos provides a good opportunity to look at photos of them next to each other and notice the differences.

BTW, try fishing some dry flies too! The dry fly fishing in the freestone streams has been really good in recent weeks.

Very nice fish. I love the color variation in the brookies. A quick shot out of the stream is OK if you're fast about it and make sure your hands are wet. As it gets warmer, I avoid taking pictures as often so the fish isn't as stressed.

As troutbert pointed out the dry fly fishing right now is great for these small fish. You will get a kick out of how aggressive these little guys can be attacking a dry fly, even if its nearly as big as them.

To further muddy the waters, the second Brown in each set appears to be the same Brown!!!

I wouldn't assume the OP doesn't know the second fish is a brown. Lots of people call browns "natives". As has been discussed a thousand times here it's not technically correct and can lead to confusion if someone says they "caught a bunch of natives" but they were talking about browns.

Thanks for the advice everyone.i knew the brown was different just figured I'd throw him in with the rest of the pictures. I do my best to have the iPhone ready to snap a pic quick so the least amount I time is spent releasing these little guys. Gotta work on remembering to wet my hands I'll keep that in mind next time. What size of dry would you suggest on these guys ?

For Brookies my size of choice is usually a 14. That’s big enough that it keeps the real dinks (less than 5”) off the hook usually, but small enough to let the decent sized ones get their mouth around it without too much trouble. If I’m catching a good number of fish on a given day, and just want to target the larger ones (say 7” legal size or better) I’ll upsize to a 12. Pattern won’t matter, just get something that floats well and is easy for you to see.
