I looked at one of my favorite streams this weekend and it was super low. We have drought conditions over a good part of state. About half the stream bed is exposed. I would imaging we will lose a lot of insects? The eggs and nymphs are not capable of moving with the receding water. Will we see a big difference in hatches next year?

Eggs cannot move with receding water, but I would think that nymphs could. Interesting question, though.

I suspect concentrating insect pops like that also puts greater predation pressure, both from the fish, and between predatory insects too not to mention the YOY
