Lot's of places fish well during periods of high water, particularly if there is some degree of clarity. However, the newcomer, without much experience on the J, is going to have a bad time at that level. The unfamiliarity and possible lack of visibility at that flow is difficult if not downright dangerous.Agree with the assessment that the LJ fishes best above 500. Was just up on Penns this weekend during so-called "perfect" conditions by TCO and my first thought was wow... this is way too low.
I find 225ish to 350ish to be the perfect balance of flow, and manageable wading. So I do agree with your assessment of TCO's reports, though their reports tend to show more concern over temps than flow.
