Little J Questions

I keep an eye out for him

Good to know, I keep an eye out
Hey, dude, just an FYI: That isn't really me. HopBack was just being funny. I am a middle-aged dude who fishes a lot. I may have waders on, or I may not. I might have an outdoor style hat on, or a boonie, or nothing at all. If it is cold, I definitely will have a beanie on. Sunglasses most likely will be worn too, unless I lost them or something recently. I have been rocking the same faded and fish pattern Orvis sling for quite a while.

I don't tend to fish in places where I see many people, though. The place I frequent from time to time that has some of the higher concentrations of anglers would be the delayed harvest stretch of East Licking. Otherwise, I virtually never see anyone.

Yeah, didn't really think that was you since I've seen some photos from your previous juniata jams but I've honestly never fished over in mcveytown much, I've only ever fished the upper section of backlog by Newton Hamilton and strodes run a little bit. I don't know any places to get in on any other streams over that way so I normally just stick with honey creek and kish, from reedsville up, and I do a lot of fishing over in stonevalley on Whipple and stony creek since it's right over the mountain for me. If you wouldn't mind going with me sometime I'd love to expand over east licking crik way but I just never had anyone to tell me where I can go. If you like smallies on a fly rod you should come over to stony creek mid to late summer, they come clean up that creek, I've caught two 4 or 5 pounders already in there.

I fish all over the place, but I rarely leave central PA. I'm not sure where you mean when you say Stony Creek. You mean Standing Stone? That stream has trout in it's headwaters, but at about McAlevys Fort it starts turning more and more into smallmouth water. I've fished it. It's a decent small stream.

Yes, standing stone, we always called it stony creek because we used to go over there and catch stony cats under the rocks. They stock it fairly heavily, especially around the 12 and under sections in mcalevys fort. I like laurel run a bit better though since it's back in the woods more, that's the creek coming in and out of Whipple

Yeah, Stone Creek gets stocked and fished heavily, but most of it is not really trout water. It's a redbreast/smallmouth stream, so you should fish for those stockies while they're there because they won't last.

I've fished Laurel that feeds Whipple, too. I'd give it a solid rating of "meh."

Okay, back to the Little J conversation....

I’ve only found one “Laurel Run” in PA that I wouldn’t rate as “meh”, or worse. And yeah, it’s not that one.

Yeah, I've seen that one on YouTube, looks like a good creek though. I'm hoping little j water levels come down enough this week, seems like it's coming down fairly slow, still in high 600cfs.

Jifigz, I'll probably be in gray paramount waders with a euro nymph or a streamer rod with a bass pro sling backpack, possibly sunglasses and the occasional dutchie straw hat
