Little J common access point

You can get up to date information on stream temperature, hatches, etc. on TCO Fly Shops website. They have a branch in state college and update information on area streams almost daily.
You cannot count on TCO stream reports for water temperatures. They nearly always report temps as lower than actual.

They seem to leave the same report up for a long time with little change as long as there hasn't been any significant rain.

Made it out Sunday morning. No problems getting to the water!👍..fished roughly 7AM-11:30AM. Landed 5 considering it successful.

Just stop in Spruce Creek Outfitters (near the bridge on Rt 45). Allen can give you plenty of up-to-date advice on where, when and how to fish the Little J.
After you spend some money. Consider buying things ss Green Fees like a golf course but your supporting a river's best friend a fly shop owner.

I read a post from Spruce Creek Outfitters over the weekend that said LJ “temps are good.” I am not sure what ”good“ means, although presumably that means for trout fishing. I have no experience with SCO reports (compared to TCO reports which I very much take with a grain of salt), but is the LJ fishable this time of year?

When do the temps on the LJ generally get back down to consistently fishable levels? Mid September?

two questions you need to ask:
when are water temps "safe" for trout (under 66-68)
When are the temps and water levels conducive for good fishing

the answers are different. downstream of the main springs (babe rd to Spruce creek ) most mornings are cool enough to be safe. How good the fishing is depends on a number of factors. We are getting some water in the system this week and the air temps will be moderate.
