I'm looking at a couple of fly lines for 2 rods. One rod is Redington Classic Trout, and the other is TFO Signature 2. Both are 4 WT 8'6" rods. I'm currently using Maxcatch lines on both and they do ok, but I think it's time to upgrade lines. The 2 lines I'm looking at are Cortland 444 Peach (DT) and SA Mastery Textured Trout (WF). I'm thinking the Peach on the CT, and Mastery on the TFO? Anybody using some combo of this, or have any input on how these rods will do with these lines?

I put Cortland 444 classic peach on most every reel I own. I just so happen to have it on a 4 wt Reddington CT and a 5 wt TFO Signature II. Those are my expensive rods and they do great with Cortland 444. I don’t buy into all the hype in fly fishing and find Cortland 444 to be more then sufficient for all of your trout and small stream needs.

This is good to hear! I've been reading a lot of good things about 444 Peach for a long time but just kept putting off getting it. The CT casts great even with the cheap Maxcatch lines so I'm hoping it will be even better with the Peach! Found the SA Mastery Textured Trout for a very good price too, so I'm going to get it also and try it on the TFO.

It's pretty hard to buy a bad fly line these days. I have a 444 peach DT in a 5w and its a fine line. I don’t have any experience with the SA textured line but I am sure it would be good too, with the exception of the awful noise those textured lines make.
