I have thought of trying this for a while now but never had the opportunity.
However, last night at Penns the water was high and my normal method of nymphing wasn't very effective because of the many different current speed that occur during high water.

I wanted to try and indicator, but already had my flies on, and I wasn't in the mood to retie. So I pinched a small loop into my leaderwhere I wanted the indicator and then slid the loop throught the hole in the foam ball. Then, as usual, slid int eh tooth pick to secure it.

I was always worried that this kink in the leader would cause it to twist and tangle, but it didn't.

Hmm, never thought of that.

I have been known to cut a small slit in the side of the indicator to add or remove without having to re-tie. Just don't force the the tooth pick too much or you may pop the indicator in half.

I'm guessing that that's why you're visiting that area. Thank whomever you're visiting for their service.

I've only fished a couple of hours away up near Lake Placid. That was fun.

Sorry for my stupidity (hide my face in shame). That previous post was obviously for another message.
