Going to Lewes DE the weekend of 5/20 to my wife's cousins place. I'm not familiar with the area but they fish for flounder in the canal. Is that viable / practicle fly fishing water? Any advice is appreciated.

It can be fly fished, especially by boat. You could fish it at the Roosevelt Inlet from the jetty as well.

In that area, I would, and do, spend my time fly fishing the flats at Cape Henlopen. I've caught fluke there on clousers. You're only minutes from Henlopen in the town of Lewes.

I plan to be in that area that weekend, but I'll be in OC at Cruise Week.

Thank you for the suggestion BC. I checked out Henolopen and look forward to trying it sometime in less than 25mph winds.

No problem, wooly.

Wind seems to always be a factor in the salt, but that wind was just wicked.
