Lehigh River flows / float question

A friend of mine put in at the bridge on 115 ( above dam) a minute or 2 into his float he realized he was headed to the falls (15 ft drop or so) luckily he made it to shore.

He sold is canoe for a song the next day.

This book has some useful info. It's available at the Gap Nature Center or Amazon.

Eddie - to answer your questions as presented
1) - Levels are getting close to not being floatable. Especially below Bowmanstown. Lehighton to Bowmanstown is doable but very boney. It all depends on how much you want to drag over rocks?
2) See the above post from VC Regular
3) Its all good depending on time of year
4) See this page. https://www.thelehighriver.org/the-river

^^ +1
Ran bowmanstown and down on Saturday. 384 cfs at lehighton and I would deem that as nearing impassible. Water temp was 57 when we put in and we were too far ahead of the WW release to get the extra push down river. By the Gap, temps neared 67 and the additional release caught us. Overall, not impressive and I'd call it all but done for the season unless there's a good bit of rain

Is that gauge in lehighton functioning properly? Did they really get 3" of rain?!?

Oh my. Hopefully it was spread out over a few hours and not just a gully washer.

Slow steady rain from about 1 til 5 then heavy downpours until about 8. Tapered off to slow/steady after that.
