Lefty Kreh

Any else catch the Lefty tribute on Outdoor Channel.
Just watched it, great story, and well done.
Worth a watch for any fly fisher.
Dear Trouthunter14,

True story. One day in 2002 I was playing hooky from work and hanging out in Bob Clouser's shop. In walked Lefty Kreh and another elderly gentleman. Lefty had his arms hanging down by his sides and said, "Hey Bob, can you hear what I'm saying?" Bob just went, "Huh?"

Lefty said, "Maybe I better turn things up," and he raised his arms up and proceeded to flip the bird with both hands at Bob.

The next four hours were really fun! It was four hours of back-and-forth ball breaking that made me jealous. As a ball breaker myself I learned a lot! 😉

Regards,

Tim Murphy 🙂

I just lucked into watching it when channel surfing. The version I saw repeated the first 10 or 15 minutes for some reason. Maybe it missed some of his married life (how long?) and his military service in WW II when it repeated itself -- I don't know.

Anyhow, it was an enjoyable program and was certainly a worthwhile watch. And, just the photos of his casting were remarkable. I believe he touched a lot of lives in a positive way.

He certainly became a successful man after growing up in pretty tough times and circumstances. He was obviously a great fly-fisherman.

The only times I ever saw him in person were when I was young: once at a banquet near Harrisburg where he gave a casting demo, and the other time he was leaving "the ditch" at Big Spring when I was heading for it and he gave us a nice hello and told us that the fish were tough there.

I wouldn't mind watching the program again. It was much better than most television programming.
