Does anyone fish this lake for bass, using a float tube, or is that pointless?

Why would it be pointless? It is no more pointless than using a boat. I provides enhanced access to various habitats and casting angles that can't be achieved from shore.

NO, no Mike. I realize the advantages of the float tube, but I read in an old thread that the fish tend to run "deep" in that lake. I was just wondering if anyone here was doing that currently and if poppers would work. I really prefer (just me) not to go very deep with a fly rod. Not that you can't go deep, but, to me, a spinning rod is better designed for that. :)

Go to Long Arm. It's a more productive fishery for LM IMO...

I fish the lake a fair amount and yes a tube will work. To be sure, the bass and larger sunfish do tend to be deeper in this lake in summer. Early in the am however (pretty much before sun up) there can be fish along the shoreline and small bass and sunfish stick close to shore all year. Try the tube in springtime, you'll likely have much better luck.

Thanks for the reply's. I'll check out both places.
