Was checking Fly Fisherman the Magazine's site and they just added a new casting video.
This one is to show you what causes a tailing loop, and more importantly, how to prevent it.

I still throw damn tailing loops when I get excited. It's good to have a nice illustration of exactly what is going wrong with it.

I throw tailing loops when I'm trying to muscle a cast and push out a lot of line.
I'm lucky though, I rarely get a knot to form or break my fly off. I use to do this when I first started and lost dozens of flies as a result of a tailing loop plucking off my fly.

Good link, thanks for sharing. I too, have problems with a tailing loop, especially when the fishing is slow and tend to go through the motions.
