Yikes! Who knows where else they might be lurking. Not a good thing at all.

Do we have any more detailed info on exactly how far up the river? Are we talking Port Jervis... or Deposit?

We've had discussion here before about how far up they would go and the consensus has been that they would stay in the lower river due to a preference for slow current. Perhaps there are a few individuals moving up into faster and shallower sections.

I believe it was caught from a guide's drift boat while fishing for smallies and was reportedly caught between Callicoon and Narrowburg.
 
Callicoon is what I was told when it was learned that this fish had been captured. It is quite a “leap” way upstream from the sites where other suspected and confirmed snakeheads have been taken, but fish can swim or be redistributed by man.
