International Fly Tying Symposium 16-17Nov

Maybe it is just me but it didnt seem as good as previous years. It is a small show but attendance was good. 18.00 for Sat admission. I probably wont attend next year. I bought some India hen necks from Precision for 5.00 each.

Agree with falcon, it was smaller than the last few years. Not as many tyers, especially the “famous” ones, but the usual material vendors that I really like.

I bought a bunch of hooks from the 2nd hand material vendor (my wife hates the mothball smell), chatted with a few tyers who are very skilled, and got to meet @falcon. Pretty good morning for me!!

Went Sunday with a pal. Gorgeous day probably cut into the attendance since the sun and warmth stirred urges to go ffish. Fewer booths than before, but still plenty of goodies to keep me busy. Bob Selb's Classic Fly Fisherman had loads of material from estates that Bob scoops up, and there are real treasures in the bins. Badger Creek was also there with a huge variety of materials, including stuff like bleached starling that are not found in the generic fly shop. Precision had a very large display fully equipped with the standard staples. It's always great to catch up with new and old friends. The Doubletree used to have a great lunch, which morphed into a pretty good buffet. Now, unfortunately, no lunch except cold sandwiches from the "Cafe".
