Does fishing through the ice with a flyrod tip converted into a fly jigging rod qualify as fly fishing. Using weighted and lead head jig flies.

I wouldn't call it "fly fishing" if it's dropped down through a hole (shoulder shrug).

I'm open to being convinced otherwise. . .

I saw a guy last year with a fly rod trying to get his fly down with a sinking line. I fly fish and ice fish just not at the same time. I did not tell him this is not going to work. I figured he would find out for himself shortly.
