Hopper Fishing

Was thinking about a trip to Letort and Falling Springs. How has the Hopper bite been? It's been years since I fished it but seemed to do best this time of year chucking large hoppers.

While I haven't hit these streams with hoppers this summer, the bugs are there and conditions are typical. I have never found the hopper bite to be fast and furious on CV streams like one can expect out West, however it is consistent as is the terrestrial bite in general.

Good luck with your trip. For what it's worth, my bug surveys reveal that almost all hoppers in CV meadows have a light green or light brown belly color, with green slightly more prevalent.
