Hook Purchase

I need to get tying and funds are limited. I figure I'll do some PT's , Hare's Ears and a few other nymphs for now. I'm also planning on some Wooly Buggers.
Would the nymph/ wet hooks from Allen be a decent all-around selection?
I saw someone on the net offering a mix of sizes in particular hook models at a fairly decent price. Does that sound familiar to anyone?

Try the Allen hooks. While I have no experience with them, hooks are so over-priced today. I like Tiemco 200R hooks for nymphs, and it looks like Allen has a similar product.

For the money Dia Rikkis are hard to beat They run about 5 buck for 50. The 135 scud hooks are awsome.

A new line of Tiemcos have just came out. They are 50 for $5.99 at A and A Outfitters. They are called the U series.

Allen hooks are pretty good. I've got over a thousand or two now and can't complain one bit for the quality compared to price.

I also buy dai riki's on ebay for around $9 for 100. Haven't had one complaint from those either and I've probably tied well over 1000 flies with those.
