Hiking, Fishing, Camping/Cabin Rental Suggestions

I haven't done a camping trip for a while but all I can say that camping is really a fun. The same group of guy’s runs the same route every time sounds good. So if you are looking for camping so there are lots of decisions you have to make like campgrounds, auditorium and dining facility and other stuff. I hope you'll enjoy every moment.

I would have to second the suggestions made about Sullivan County Area. The trails around Worlds End will not dissapoint what your looking for. If your spending a week in the area then I would suggest looking into parts of the LT ( Loyalsock Trail). You have several views on the trail that are gorgeous. Aside from the hiking the area has to offer the LT has many streams that cross the trail in many areas. Before deciding look at names like Shanerburg Run, Dry Run, Rusty Run, Pole Bridge and Kettle Creek Gorge area. All of these streams hold populations of Native Brook and you might even encounter some Wild Browns. Aside from these streams the Big Loyalsock and Little Loyalsock are both within Minutes of Worlds End State Park. Depending on your time of trip the Big Sock still may be fishing Well. When your in Forksville make sure to take a trip into Eagles mere and hit up the Blind Pig Pub, heady little place with a very large bottle selection. Hope this helps!

the sullivan/luzerne county line near ricketts is frack traffic central and water is not going to the trout, but to the center of the earth for bankers. If you want to park at the falls and watch 50 trucks a day marked lead, acid, oil fly past you at mach 3....then I guess you can go there, but, uh probably not. There are also seismic line laying choppers that are flying all about, and "sportsman" looking for springs and sources of water.

I would try to go to an area near the Lehigh around FEW dam and the Lackawanna State Forest in Thornhurst. This way, you have the Lehigh and the Lackawanna which have colder water and flow. The lackawanna state forest(not all that far away from the lackawanna river) has a ton of hiking trails and there is one vista view that is well known for being one of the top views in Pa. There is probably 200,000 acres of public sgls and forest that is nearly contiguous filled with wild trout streams in that area.

As for places to stay, I'm not sure if that state forest has cabins. You could stay at the Mount Airy casino and use that as your base camp, lol. Very nice hotel.
