Heading to a Cameron county for the week and everything is blown out. Any lakes in the area (Elk, Cameron, Jefferson etc)? Private lakes? Thx

The lakes at Sinnemahoning State Park, and Lyman Lake and Kettle Creek Lake are stocked.

But I wouldn't assume that the small brookie streams will be unfishable.

Often they fish very well when the larger streams are too high to fish.

thx troutbert. Any brookie streams you would recommend? Wycoff will likely clear first given the steeper grade.

None specifically. There are so many. Just look at the state forest maps and pick some.

If you go to one and it is too high and/or off color, just go further upstream, or pick smaller streams.

It is rare for the streams to be so high that you cannot find small streams in good shape for fishing.

Wykoff is right along a road and it's stocked.

I prefer brookie streams that are not right along a road and not stocked. But maybe I'm just contrary. :)

A trick is to observe the watershed by map. The lesser area covered by the stream and tributaries (if any) the more likely that it can sustain a heavy rain event.

Very upper part of cooks run is usually worth the drive.
