Help identify wing material.

Can you please help me identify the material used on the wing of this fly? Also any ideas where I can purchase it?

Those wings (wing buds) look like mallard quills or something similar. I know those are commonly used in a pupa pattern like that. Doesn't look like anything synthetic.

I agree that they look something like duck quills. However, Swiss straw or similar would be a good substitute.

Thanks guys! Ordered some mallard primary feathers but in the meantime I tried using the opposite side of some turkey biot feathers and seems to look pretty good. Again thanks for your help.

I use biots like you tried. Easy to use and won't come apart.
