I don't tie,but was wondering what is the color the grammon nymph .
I thought it would be btownish/black ,but i have been told that it is sort of chartreuse green. Is that true?if so does anyone have a pattern or a picture that I could see,so i buy the right nymphs
Thanks
Tom

Grannoms are a cased caddis. When the caddis matures to the pupa form, it escapes the case and rises/swims to surface to hatch. Here are pics from Troutnut showing the case and the larva inside the case:

Some guys tie a "peeking" or "peeping" caddis pattern. The easiest thing to tie is a simple wet fly with peacock body with some partridge hackle. If you don't tie, drift a prince nymph in front of the trout's nose and dare it not to hit.....

Thanks ,Tom.Very helpful info.
I had forgotten about the Troutnut site.
Yes indeed the nymph is a bright green.!
BTW:Good memory on your part too ,knowing that I almost always have a Princes Nymph as one of my flys when I nymph.
