I have no craft stores around me that carry small seed beads/caddis beads and the wally world has nothing similar to what I'm looking for. Could someone give me a link for where they get their midge sized glass beads from. I have been looking all over the net but don't want to get the wrong kind. I'm looking for sz 18-20 and 22-24 so I assume that's a 1.5mm and smaller correct?

Another option is check out the jewelry section at your local pharmacy(CVS,RITEAID)or Walmart. I've already bought necklaces with glass beads that I liked just for the beads. I've also bought a necklace with big wooden beads that I used to make a lanyard for fishing. Or you could just buy them online.

do a search online for some craft stores.

I was doing searches online, but as I said above I was not sure what size beads I'd be looking for. I see some advertised in the MM some advertised in the /0.

Craft stores typically sell beads that will work on a size 18 tops. Too big for most midges. Spirit River carries some tiny ones.

Here is one:

was paging through the feathercraft catalog and they carry them down to hook size 26.

Thank you for the info. I am a cheap fly tyer and I keep hearing about craft stores having the lowest prices on items such as glass beads and other items. Thanks.

If you're near Lansdale, check the Classic Fly Fisherman. I got a bag of like 200 spirit river ones for like $1.50 and they work well on 22-24.

Thanks for that info. The next time I visit my son, I will have to go there.
