Give me some feedback

Ideally I'd like to focus it more on PA specific patterns which I think would help new tyers and fly fisherman to learn more about PA's best patterns.

That's an idea with real merit... and it could point up some interesting variations. For instance, tyers in the Penns Creek valley tye sulphurs with yellow wings and hackle. Tyers who fish the Letort use dun wings and either yellow or dun hackle. Could it be that the bugs are different? That's likely. In either case, the imitations work well on the waters they were developed for.

You may want to contact the people at http://www.paflyfishing.org/
This is an organization dedicated to recognizing the expertise and activism of Pennsylvania's flyanglers and tyers. They may be able to give you a list (or at least leads) of PA developed fly patterns. Then again, they are totally swamped there and may not be able to help. In any case, make sure the patterns you post are in the public sector. Bob Clouser just put a book out of his patterns and Ed Shenk is protective of many of his patterns too.

I hope I wasn't too critical above.

Thats great! I'll have to make contact with Paflyfishing.org, I think basing a site on PA Patterns may be more niche, and I'm sure I'll learn a lot along the way, I could even categorize them by area, that way anglers will receive a heads up on the patterns if they're traveling to that area 🙂

Please don't worry you were nowhere near as critical as some of the clients I have to deal with, I'm a web/graphic designer so I'm used to much harsher criticism, thats definately the type oof feedback I wanted just to know A. if I'm wasting my time B. if anyone will even use it and finally C. Hot Pink Sucks 🙂

thanks again

What do the rest of you guys feel about making this site PA Specific Patterns and categorized by area? is this more useful to you as a tool?

Sounds like a good idea to me... There are already too many sites with patterns, such as the one I posted above which even gives step by step tutorials of each pattern. It would be a better idea to do PA specific patterns

Hey shakey thanks for the feedback I'll gladly add some north country spiders and any other patterns you can think of, if you have any other North PA specific patterns just let me know and I'll add them to the site
