I remember he did a video a few years ago about anglers helping out Penn State’s brook trout spot pattern study. Then he kinda seemed to disappear. My friends and family and I were pumped to help. We ordered 10 packets to participate. Once we found out that the location of each native caught was mandatory. We decided not to participate. Perhaps he had access to the data from this study and has been in the mountains brook trout fishing ever since? 🙂

I miss his videos. The better YT FFing channels with pretty slick production values are a ton of work to make and keep up with. All for a bunch of jags in the comments telling you to use your net better, or get your hands wetter, or they could land that fish in half the time, or whatever. I can easily see guys getting tired of that, and just saying “F” it. If it interferes enough with enjoying your fishing time, I could see that getting old fast. Not saying that’s what happened to Evanko’s channel, but just in general. A lot of moderately successful YT channels (ones that have a decent following, but aren’t big enough to generate actual real income from) just stop posting videos. I just assumed they got tired of it, or bored with it, or moved on to a new hobby. I used to like to golf. Only way you can get me to golf now is if you come up with a good beer/wing place to go to after.

I miss his videos as well. They were some of the better YT wild trout videos. He's the one who got me back up to Sullivan county after a lot of years.
