Am I to assume that Bob, Jr will be teaching a class on fly tying and NOT including the clouser minnow?

(I traded clousers with Bob at the tying show, he laughed at my sz18, and then I took one of his "originals," and lost it at the show. I'm still crushed.)

I wish they were running advanced classes in the Auburn, NY location.

My wife and I were at Bass Pro in October and saw the sign-up. SHE suggested we take the class together !! She doesn't even fish. I signed us up immediately. Clouser Jr suggested the Lefty Kreh starter kit to begin. He said it would have all the materials etc needed for the flies we'd tie.

I can't wait! I tied a few flies as a tennager but thaqt was 30 years ago.

Maybe that's advanced class. Not really an advanced fly but when taught by the heir elect to the Clouser fame it may just be awesomeness in the making.

Remember class size is limited, so if your wife has no real interest in tying you may be bumping others.

My wif ewould like to learn to FF. She asked for a new rod and waders for x-mas!
This is gonna change a bunch of stuff in my life.

Jerry...I still have mine and I will sell it to you for 10 dollars :)

Not the same, I traded flies with the man. He took my junk with his name on it, laughed, and thought it was cool. I lost his. That killed me.

I went back into the building and prowled around looking for it, so angry was I.

wat?

tl;dr?

I gave him a size 18 clouser minnow, he and jr thought that was highly amusing. junk = wee little fly. see, its junk (because i made it)with his name on it (bob clouser, and clouser minnow, see his name).

work with me here.

Oh, I thought you wrote his name on your junk.

See what I did there?

I don't know Bob jr that well but i grew up in his dads shop , i can't begin to tell you how much help and time savings it would be to take a few hours of instruction from these folks , it's priceless and can't be beat with a big stick. If you have the opportunity take it you won't ever be sorry. If you do go tell them to say HI to Mike for me.

Interesting. Andy (sight_nymph) spent a lot of his formative years growing up in his shop.

Ya, sounds like you are pretty much stuck with her now.

jdaddy............I hung around Bobs shop from 1980 till around 2000 , haven't been there since but i wouldn't hesitate to recommend sending anyone to them. They were nice people and always took the time to answer my dumb questions and demonstrate things i couldn't figure out. Bob was always very generous with materials also , if i went in there and bought something there was always a sample or two of something in addition. Is sight nymph still banished? I would enjoy talking to him about the Clousers.

I have sent him your email advising you wish to chat with him.

Thanks , jdaddy..............those were some of the happiest years of my life and any memories of those times make this ol bird smile.
