I was wondering the same thing...
I hope not, and would think Bob would have figured that out and mentioned it if it was a problem...
I just tied up a handful to try on Snook on Florida (flyin out in a few hrs)...last time I got a bunch of follows but few takes, was using all bait patterns, maybe a shrimp will get em this time

I just tried one of pop's shrimp recently for the first time, and it did ride hook down despite the epoxy on top.

That said, I've seen it tied w/ dumbell eyes to ride point up as well.
