Fly Tying Photos

i also use 4 basic colors for backgrounds

My set up is very elaborate, precise and probably not easily accomplished by the average iPhone owner. But here it is anyway. I just hold the phone in my hand and take a picture in front of a piece of blue construction paper. I was actually a little embarrassed to show it but at the very least it shows how easy and inexpensive the process can be to get decent pictures. They won’t win any still photography awards but they are good enough for the task at hand.

right there with ya. i use the same highly technical procedure. i have the piece of foam that i stand whatever color construction paper in front of.

I bought a small light box off of Amazon. It seems to have made a difference. You can use the macro lens if you have an iPhone pro. I do not have a pro but have found that portrait mode with no zoom works best. Zoom in on the fly during editing. Also, try to use a stand or tripod to steady your phone.
