Fly reel recommendation

I have 3 Okuma SLV's...(2 4/5's and a 5/6) a very highly regarded for a $45 reel (on Amazon.) I couldn't find anything comparable for 2x the price.

Well, that seems like a bizarre step back.

Turkey is right, both strip and retrieve are the same tension.

I was concerned with a new setup going into it. I knew I didn't want a conventional drag system like I have on my 5wt. It's light and it works well. I've never adjusted the tension on the reel. I don't notice the extra resistance when pulling line off the reel.

I have reels like that, so I'm not against the idea, but I'm surprised they had no way to bias it to allow a lighter retrieve, alth9ough I expect that its so small and user un-friendly inside you couldn't switch retrieve, so that's why they did it.

It seems like Sage's Click reels are still a more elegant solution, but at $300 are stupid expensive. I think their pawl is plastic, too.

This thing at $200 is also too expensive for me, and I'm not sure I'd want its short comings (honestly, at this point, I'd probably just get a regular ole disc drag reel). YMMV.

It is fancy looking. And US made. Those are plusses.

Thanks for explaining it.
