I have reels like that, so I'm not against the idea, but I'm surprised they had no way to bias it to allow a lighter retrieve, alth9ough I expect that its so small and user un-friendly inside you couldn't switch retrieve, so that's why they did it.
It seems like Sage's Click reels are still a more elegant solution, but at $300 are stupid expensive. I think their pawl is plastic, too.
This thing at $200 is also too expensive for me, and I'm not sure I'd want its short comings (honestly, at this point, I'd probably just get a regular ole disc drag reel). YMMV.
It is fancy looking. And US made. Those are plusses.
