Middle fork of Willamette- about the same as the South Fork of McKenzie.






I found out that the Willow/Whitehorse creeks and their tribe are closed to angling. They were closed prior to the heatwave- not sure what year that happened. That ends the quest for that cutthroat strain.

Chetco River , OR

Didn't fish it but drove up 10-15 miles to check it out. Ran out of license time. Might be more fishy further up. Air temps are cool from the coast but does get lots of sun. Struck out on coastal cutts in a drainage where a biologist told me to go- saw a few but no deal. I hope to try again in a swifter water than I fished - Upper Smith River near Reedsport, OR.

Love this cool weather near the coast.
