Hello Everyone,

I was hoping to see everyone's personal "Fly Fishing Library". I have been collecting both fly tying and fishing books for a few months now and definitely want to expand as I tie all the flies and read the books I have now! The books I have now are a collection of trout, flats, and tying focused books. Would love to see everyone's book collections!

Google Classic Fly Fisherman. There are LOTS of good fly-fishing books there. You could spend a fortune!

Here are a few of the ones I have. Most, but not all sit above my fly tying desk. There are a few in various places in my house that I am actively reading. The George Daniels book Strip Set is one. I also have Rare and Unusual Fly Tying Materials Vol 1 (still looking for Vol 2) The one I am holding is one of my favorite, even though I do not tie classic flies much. I was taught how to tie by a neighbor when I was a kid. He left me some books when he passed, and Forgotten Flies was among them.

I do a lot of reading, and I am fortunate that the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh has a pretty nice collection thanks to the PWWTU and others. It is worth checking out the library before buying. A couple on the shelf are from the library and are in the reading queue...

Edited to add a couple that were not pictured but worth mentioning: Modern Streamers for Trophy Trout by Linesman and Galloup and Guide Flies by Klausmeyer.

I had a stack of classics probably 30+ i gave away at what I believe was the last fly tying jam in Slatington. About 4 or 5 years ago. LaFontaine, Marinaro, Swisher and Richard's, Brooks, Leisenring, Talleur, Jorgansen, Nemes, Hughes plus some others. I have 2 pattern books that I kept as reference.

I think DC410 on this forum got LaFontaine. Was anyone else present at that event that got one.

I literally have two or three boxes full of fly fishing books I don't use anymore. Id love to give them to you but your in Moosic and I'm in Lancaster.
Mailing them would be way too expensive.

If you are ever down this way....

Well maybe not a ton, but definitely worth more than I paid which is all that matters, I guess...

The sad state of affairs is as time goes by and interest wanes, I can envision a time when even a first edition sells for less than I paid...
