Needed something to read during my wife's eye doc. appt. yesterday, so stopped and picked up a FFM. I was pleasantly surprised that it had expanded from 64 pages to 80 pages during the interval since I had last read one. In addition, it contained quite a bit more advertising than previously (including one for a 5-million dollar "cabin"). The down side, of course, is that some of the major features dealt with waters I'll never get to fish, a famous saltwater guide I'd never heard of, and 11 pages of blurbs about new products, mostly which I cannot afford. The issue did include the second of a 5-part series about flycasting, which could be of benefit to many anglers.
I was most impressed with the price: the cards inside advertised one year for $12.00 or two years for $22.00. I think the previous price had been $26/year. So, even if future issues include only two or three articles of interest to me, at the new price the mag. is probably worth subscribing to. I am planning to subscribe for two years, taking a chance at 75 that I'll make it two more years.
Anyhow, at the present rate, it might be worth your while to subscribe, especially if you like to read printed material rather than material on a computer.
